A 30mm (1.18") diameter black Grade A POM-C acetal copolymer rod cut to 300mm (11.81") long. Black acetal offers the same outstanding mechanical performance as natural white — high tensile strength, excellent creep resistance, low friction, and superb machinability — with added UV stability from the carbon black pigment, making it well suited to outdoor and exposed applications. Because acetal absorbs virtually no moisture it maintains its structural integrity and dimensional accuracy in humid and wet environments, outperforming nylon in precision applications.

Key Properties

  • High tensile strength and stiffness — outperforms many polymers on impact resistance
  • Low coefficient of friction — ideal for sliding, wear, and bearing applications
  • Excellent creep resistance — maintains dimensional stability under sustained load
  • Low water absorption — resistant to hydrocarbons, solvents, and neutral chemicals
  • UV stable — carbon black pigment provides improved UV resistance vs natural grade
  • Easy to machine — produces a clean, precise finish on lathes and CNC machines
  • Service temperature: -29°C to 85°C continuous, up to 93.3°C intermittent

Typical Applications

  • Gears, bushings, and slideways
  • Pump parts, valve bodies, and housings
  • Automotive: fuel sender units, door lock systems, power windows
  • Robotics, marine engineering, and general fabrication
