A 50mm (1.97") diameter white Grade A POM-C acetal copolymer rod cut to 300mm (11.81") long. Acetal POM-C (sometimes referred to as Delrin, DuPont's trade name for the homo-polymer grade) combines high tensile strength, excellent creep resistance, and a low coefficient of friction, making it one of the most widely used engineering plastics for precision components. The 50mm diameter is a popular mid-range size for machining bushings, gears, rollers, and structural components.
Key Properties
- High tensile strength and stiffness — outperforms many polymers on impact resistance
- Low coefficient of friction — ideal for sliding, wear, and bearing applications
- Excellent creep resistance — maintains dimensional stability under sustained load
- Low water absorption — resistant to a wide range of solvents and chemicals
- Easy to machine — produces a clean, precise finish on lathes and CNC machines
- Service temperature: -29°C to 85°C continuous, up to 93.3°C intermittent
Typical Applications
- Gears, bushings, and slideways
- Pump parts, valve bodies, and housings
- Insulators, bobbins, and electronic components
- Automotive: fuel sender units, door lock systems, power windows
- General precision machining and fabrication
